Location:
This family run ranch lies alongside the Clarks Fork of the
Yellowstone River near the Beartooth Mountains.
Approximately 60 miles south of Billings, Montana and 40 miles north of Cody,
Wyoming. American Round-Up recommend you rent a car and explore the
Yellowstone park prior to your visit to the ranch if you have time.
Alternatively the ranch offer a transfer from the airport at charge $150
transfer from Billings or Cody..
Activities
: Both novice and experienced riders are catered for and their rides explore the
ranch, wide open range and pine covered mountains.
You will be offered a morning ride, afternoon ride or an
all day ride, and get ready to see some majestic country - end you day in the
hot tub! Depending on the time of year you visit, you may be involved in many
aspects of ranch life, from wrangling horses to branding, doctoring and moving
cattle, putting out salt blocks or feeding the cows. Once a week they plan a day trip to
explore the western town of Cody to visit the Buffalo Bill Museum and the Night
Rodeo.
Alternative activities on
site: mountain biking, hiking, wagon rides or fishing. You can either step
out the door to the banks of the Clarks Fork and cast your line for a trophy
trout, or you can take a short walk down to the creek for little brookies.
There is also a fish hatchery which is only a few miles from the ranch.
Wildlife depending on what
time you visit during the summer you can listen to the call of meadowlarks, sand
hill cranes, blue herons, hawks as well as seeing pelicans on the river.
Other neighbours include white tail, deer, fox, coyote, bears, mountain lions,
moose, elk and bald eagles in the winter. Autumn is an ideal time to spot
wild turkey, pheasants or geese.
Meals
: All meals are all served
family style in the ranch house with one night bbque
outside. All rooms feature private baths,
air-conditioning with either mountain or river views.
Singles, bunk beds, queen beds, king beds and family
suites. The summer season runs from May to
October and you may start any day for a 6 nights stay. 20 guests.
Prices start from 1 May-31 October 2008 £823 pp Children 6-12 £703 pp includes 3 meals a day, accommodation, ranch activities plus a 15% service charge will be added to your quote. Transfer from Billings or Cody $150 per party
