2008 CANADA HELI-HIKING HOLIDAYS

Heli-Hiking in Western Canada offers a vast, magical wilderness to explore in as rigorous or relaxing a way as you would like. You may shape your own experience by selecting one of many different types of Heli-Hiking programs that we can offer.
Based from six remote
lodges, you spend the day
hiking and exploring, always at a comfortable pace, with long or short,
strenuous or leisurely hikes to choose from. The guests, not the guides, set the
gait. After a days hiking you can fly back to the lodge for a massage, an
outdoor hot tub soak or a
sauna, a chapter or two a good book, a well-earned, beautifully prepared dinner,
and some story-swapping by the fireplace.
During
Short Escapes, you will
spend several days exploring the mountains surrounding a specific lodge, not to
mention dining on deliciously memorable gourmet food and relaxing in the unique
luxury of our wilderness lodges. Choose from a variety of three or four night
departures.
The
Bobbie Burns & Bugaboo Lodge-to-Lodge trip
features three nights at the Bobbie Burns Lodge, and then, with the assistance
of the helicopter, a trek over several mountain passes to spend the next
three-nights at our famous Bugaboo Lodge. If you are interested in
combining your Heli-Hiking trip with a stay in Banff, one of the world’s great
mountain towns,
we suggest you tie it in with the
Bugaboos. A
combination of the famous castle, Fairmont’s Banff Springs Hotel, and the
Bugaboos is a classic. Lake Louise is a world-famed scenic archetype not to be
missed. It is the perfect complement to a stay in the
Bobbie Burns.
Their partners at the Relais & Chateaux Post Hotel will set you up with an
experience unmatched.

The
Adamants & Monashees Lodge-to-Lodge trip
is the newest addition to our Heli-Hiking line-up. This six-night excursion
combines the dramatic terrain of the Adamants with new uncharted Heli-Hiking in
the Monashees. Again, this adventure features three-night stays in both lodges.
Looking for something so remote no one has ever heard of it? We suggest the
Adamants. The route,
through
four national parks, is alone worth the trip. Miles of mountain scenery
unfolds with unprecedented diversity. Not to mention the wildlife enroute. Then
the crowning glory: mountains still unnamed, routes untouched; a place
glaciation and
geology unfolds in textbook eye-popping proportions.
Jasper, a sleepy village compared to many mountain towns, boasts one of the
finest alpine-style villages anywhere. Fairmont’s Jasper Park Lodge is a retreat
in itself. Multi-generational families make unforgettable memories in
traditional style cabins on the shores of Lac Beauvert. Make it an exclusive
trip and book our most intimate lodge,
Valemount,
where you will hike in the
Cariboos.
Family adventures,
designed to appeal to junior and senior hikers alike, are a sensational way
for families to share a unique mountain experience.
Do you need a summer lodge to call your own? Consider a
Private Lodge as the
location for your next office retreat, family reunion, or milestone celebration.
Private Guided Trips are
offered to those who would like to experience Heli-Hiking or Mountaineering with
their own personal guide at an extra charge..
