Located about 50 miles along the north side of Carpenter Lake, Casie
and Warren Menhenick offer a number of Rocky Mountain pack trips. Discover
for yourself some of the most impressive high-country scenery anywhere in
the world. Wind your way past the glacier dotted peaks that vault into a
crystal blue sky, descending into meadows of wild alpine flowers bursting
with vibrant colours. While in the backcountry enjoy comfortable rustic
cabins or base camps that are located at Spruce Lake, Eldorado Basin,
Trigger Lake, the headwaters of Tyaughton Creek and Relay Creek. You
will sleep comfortably on foam mats or therma-rest pads, some of the camps
even boast hot showers. On extended tours you will be accommodated in new
dome tents and sleep comfortably on inflatable sleeping pads. On your
tour you may spot some of the local inhabitants; bears, moose, marmots,
deer, wolves, mountain goats and many more creatures that call this terrain
home. Tours depart throughout the summer and include your tented or cabin
accommodation, all meals and soft drinks plus your mount and the services of
experienced guides.

Horseback Adventures are based about 90 minutes north west of Calgary in the
foothills of the Rocky Mountains. They will offer eight set departures during
the summer of six nights duration commencing on Sundays and finishing on
Saturdays. They have two mountain camps located in the Rockies and offer
challenging riding trips into the mountains. The Base Camp has hard sided tents
with wooden floors, comfy beds with mattresses, a cosy cook tent and hot
showers. It is recommended for riders of 16 and over as you will spend between 4
and 5 hours a day in the saddle so some riding experience is needed. The second
camp is higher up in the mountain and known as the Adventure Camp. It takes a
six hour ride from Base Camp to get there but the location is well worth the
trip as the views will be breathtaking. Heated tents are set up here with
carpets rather than wooden floors but still a comfortable experience. All
accommodation is out in the mountains. Open June to September, a 6 night stay.

For over 40 years, Warners have upheld
the back country tradition of riding through the Canadian Rockies. They offer
everything from rides that are ideal for those with just a day or so right
through to backcountry rides which are perfect for people of all ages and
abilities, who have a little more time to spend in the Rockies. They have
something for everyone, tenting or lodges from two to six days. You can leave
behind deadlines and schedules and trade them in for fresh mountain air, a good
horse and a trail that leads you from one spectacular view to another . Spacious
A-frame tents, fire pits, rustic rail corrals and a large kitchen tent at each
camp site. The combination of mountain air and a day out on the trail usually
stirs up an appetite, their cooks are ready to meet the challenge. Breakfast and
dinner are sit-down affairs and lunch is served picnic style along the trail.
The most challenging and rugged trips on offer are the Adventure Expedition
rides, designed for the outdoor enthusiast. New camps are established daily as
the expedition penetrates further into the mountains. These rides visit isolated
areas of Banff National Park that few have an opportunity to experience.
