Located about 50 miles along the north side of Carpenter Lake,  Casie and Warren Menhenick offer a number of Rocky Mountain pack trips. Discover for yourself some of the most impressive high-country scenery anywhere in the world. Wind your way past the glacier dotted peaks that vault into a crystal blue sky, descending into meadows of wild alpine flowers bursting with vibrant colours. While in the backcountry enjoy comfortable rustic cabins or base camps that are located at Spruce Lake, Eldorado Basin, Trigger Lake, the headwaters of Tyaughton Creek and Relay Creek.  You will sleep comfortably on foam mats or therma-rest pads, some of the camps even boast hot showers.  On extended tours you will be accommodated in new dome tents and sleep comfortably on inflatable sleeping pads.  On your tour you may spot some of the local inhabitants; bears, moose, marmots, deer, wolves, mountain goats and many more creatures that call this terrain home. Tours depart throughout the summer and include your tented or cabin accommodation, all meals and soft drinks plus your mount and the services of experienced guides.    Pack Trip rates:10 June – 7 July  &  1-15 Oct 4 day trip £395, 5 day trip £491, 7 day trip £684.   11 July – 30 September   3,4,5,7,10 day pack trips

Brief Description
Bighorn Horseback Adventures are based about 90 minutes north west of Calgary in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. They will offer eight set departures during the summer of six nights duration commencing on Sundays and finishing on Saturdays. They have two mountain camps located in the Rockies and offer challenging riding trips into the mountains. The Base Camp has hard sided tents with wooden floors, comfy beds with mattresses, a cosy cook tent and hot showers. It is recommended for riders of 16 and over as you will spend between 4 and 5 hours a day in the saddle so some riding experience is needed. The second camp is higher up in the mountain and known as the Adventure Camp. It takes a six hour ride from Base Camp to get there but the location is well worth the trip as the views will be breathtaking. Heated tents are set up here with carpets rather than wooden floors but still a comfortable experience. All accommodation is out in the mountains. Brief Description
Jan and Dewy Matthews offer a range of riding experiences from two to three hour day rides right through to multi day pack trips in the breathtaking Kananaskis Country, an area much favoured by tourists and film makers. The High Mountain Wilderness Camps depart every Monday (June to September) where they offer canvas outfitter tents with cots and foam mattresses for guests, a bathroom tent and a large kitchen and dining tent. Return is on Sunday. For those looking for moving camps of up to seven days duration, there will be about six departures during the summer into the Rocky Mountains. All offer a wilderness experience – The Lost Rim trip is for experienced riders only – where you are guided through areas untouched by man. Camps are set up on a temporary basis, prices include your mount, all your food and the unforgettable chance to get far away from the hurly-burly of life. These are small number groups so you will need to book as early as possible. For over 40 years, Warners have upheld the back country tradition of riding through the Canadian Rockies. They offer everything from rides that are ideal for those with just a day or so right through to backcountry rides which are perfect for people of all ages and abilities, who have a little more time to spend in the Rockies. They have something for everyone, tenting or lodges from two to six days. You can leave behind deadlines and schedules and trade them in for fresh mountain air, a good horse and a trail that leads you from one spectacular view to another . Spacious A-frame tents, fire pits, rustic rail corrals and a large kitchen tent at each camp site. The combination of mountain air and a day out on the trail usually stirs up an appetite, their cooks are ready to meet the challenge. Breakfast and dinner are sit-down affairs and lunch is served picnic style along the trail. The most challenging and rugged trips on offer are the Adventure Expedition rides, designed for the outdoor enthusiast. New camps are established daily as the expedition penetrates further into the mountains. These rides visit isolated areas of Banff National Park that few have an opportunity to experience.
