Remotely located in the heart of the Rockies, Elk Mountain Dude and Guest Ranch is in the secluded San Isabel National Forest near Buena Vista, Colorado. A pleasant two-hour drive from Denver or Colorado Springs brings you to the heart of the Colorado Rockies. The Ranch experience is a one-week adventure encompassing the best of Colorado at very reasonable, all-inclusive vacation prices. Days are filled with horseback riding, white water rafting, hiking, riflery, fishing, and other activities set against a backdrop of unending vistas. Superb daily trail rides are the Ranch's most distinguishing features. The high, remote location offers miles of trails through aspen forests and open parks.

During the Peak season, an overnight pack trip is included in the cost. The ranch owns an excellent string of horses and they are matched to the rider's abilities, offering an opporunity to bond with your very own horse for the week. The Main Lodge houses facilities for dining, a lodge room with large fireplace, loads of games and puzzles, piano, library, enclosed porch and sun deck. Their superb, varied, & full-course meals will delight both hearty and discerning appetites and are sure to be a highlight. Trail ride cookouts, steak fry, country candlelight supper and fabulous desserts. They are located near several excellent "secret fishin' holes", so bring your fly rod or spinning tackle (or use ranch equipment). The river, stream and high mountain lakes offer terrific Rainbow Trout angling. There are two stocked ponds on the ranch property.

Accommodation comes in the form of a number of cabins sleeping four to five guests as well as an suite in the main lodge. The maximum capacity 30 people. For non riders there are miles of hiking trails, a half days rafting trip on the Arkansas River and a weekly trip into nearby Aspen - famous for its skiing facilities.

Transfers are available from Denver and Colorado Springs for a charge of $335 (no extra fees, taxes or gratuities) round-trip for a family group up to 5 persons.
