The beauty and seclusion of beautiful North Idaho are at your fingertips at the Western Pleasure Guest Ranch, located in Sandpoint, Idaho and you will receive a warm welcome.
Amenities in the main building include a recreation room featuring a pool table for a friendly game of billiards plus an outdoor hot tub.
Accommodations are offered in the 10,000 square foot main lodge, hewn from local timber and offering six spacious guest rooms, each with private bath. Upstairs rooms are themed and have names like Miss Belle, Siesta, Nez Pierce and Duke's. Downstairs accommodations include the Grandma/Grandpa room. Our luxury cabins include wood stoves for warmth on cool evenings.
The Grand Lodge offers cozy common areas. A guest favorite is the great room where guests enjoy the expansive river rock fireplace and comfortable leather seating, The great room is tastefully decorated with a combination of mounted wildlife, including cougar, elk, bear, buffalo and a white moose (from Alaska) and art featuring local artists as well as well known artist Bev Doolittle. The downstairs recreation room provides a television for watching your favorite, classic John Wayne movie.
Most meals are served buffet style in the great room of the main lodge. Western Pleasure emphasizes hearty ranch style food, including products from beef raised naturally on grain and grass on the ranch. No steroids are used and the beef is processed through, Wood's Meat Processing,
Mid June to Aug 2010 Kids Programme - Kids staying at the ranch have the opportunity to be involved in one of the most educational and fun children's program available today. This program is designed for kids age 8 - 18. Hands on experiences with their horse is the centerpiece of this program. The program starts on Sunday evening and is concluded on Thursday evening, with a horse show, complete with trophies and ribbons. They will be responsible for there own horse and equipment. They learn horse husbandry skills and equipment care. Every morning they will help catch and saddle their own horse.
Sunday 3:00 pm - Check in. Guests arrive and check in to their room or cabin. 6:00 pm - Appetizers on lodge porch 6:30 pm - Dinner. Dinner is served in the great room of the Grand Lodge. After dinner visit with other guests or enjoy a quiet evening alone.
Monday 8:30 am - Wranglers run the horses up from the meadow.

10:00 am - Meet at barn for riding orientation and instructions. A short trail ride to follow.

2:00 pm- Afternoon Ride (about two hours)

10:00 am - Meet at barn for all day ride. Today we ride to Grouse Creek Falls. You may want to bring a swim suit and towel for a refreshing dip at the Falls, The trip home in wet jeans can be long.
4:30 pm - Return to lodge
5:00 pm - Wranglers run horses back to meadow
6:30 pm - Dutch Oven Dinner. Served outside at fire pit. Music around the campfire after dinner.
