Family owned & operated, the Ranch is nestled just inside the Rocky Mountain Front and overlooks the beautiful Sun River Canyon and Gibson Lake.The horses and riding programme are their main focus and they will attempt to match your ability and personality to a well-suited mount.

As an alternative to a ranch stay, the owners offer some truly wonderful Pack Trips into the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area. These vary between 5 and 8 nights and the ultimate in "Get Away From It All" vacations.

These are the dates the pack trips will travel:

TRIP 1 : 14-18 JUNE 5 DAYS WILDLIFE EXTRAVAGANZA £1153.00 pp plus £135.00 compulsory ranch gratuities
This trip travels to the base camp in the heart of the Sun River Valley, along Biggs Creek. The valley is unique for its expansive meadows rimmed by snow capped peaks in the summer range of elk, deer & bighorn sheep. Base camp features deluxe wall tents with cots and large cook tent. Designed to maximize opportunity for wildlife watching with emphasis on scenic day rides and hiking.

TRIP 2 : 5-10 JULY 5 DAYS RANCH/PACK-TRIP COMBO £1153.00 pp plus £135.00 compulsory ranch gratuities
This trip begins at the Ranch (2 nights) with a day of horsemanship and riding before departing for the backcountry. You will spend another 2 nights camping in the Wilderness along Glenn Creek inside the Sun River Game Preserve where wildlife abounds with elk, deer, bighorn sheep. On Friday you will return to the Ranch in time for a steak dinner. Perfect for those who want to enjoy both the ranch and the backcountry. Fantastic fishing on the river and excellent riding and hiking.

TRIP 3 : 11-17 JULY 6 DAYS ? RANCH/PACK-TRIP COMBO £1382.00 pp plus £163.00 compulsory ranch gratuities
Spend the first 3 nights at the Ranch enjoying the diverse trails and activities before heading to the wilderness midweek for a 2 night adventure in the Sun River Valley. Camping by the river, you will explore "Elk Hill" and the surrounding country. Return to the Ranch on Friday for a steak dinner.. Perfect for trout fishing or just plain relaxing in the splendor of the mountains.

TRIP 4 : 29 JULY - 4 AUGUST 7 DAYS CHINESE WALL/MOOSE CREEK £1610.00 plus £190.00 compulsory ranch gratuities
Traveling into the Sun River valley area, this trip then climbs to the famous Chinese Wall, a majestic and rugged 12 mile section of the Continental Divide. With camps at both the mouth and head of Moose Creek you will ride beneath the splendor of this spectacular rock formation. Fishing, hiking and riding opportunities abound.

TRIP 5 : 13-18 AUGUST 6 DAYS BIGGS CREEK PLATEAU £1382.00 pp plus £163.00 compulsory ranch gratuities
Based out of their camp on Biggs Creek in the North Fork of the Sun River Valley, this trip highlights scenic day rides to Beartop Lookout and Gates Park. Deluxe camping accommodations with wall tents and cots, as well as large cook tent. Warm days offer great riding options or fantastic fishing & hiking opportunities.

TRIP 6 : 5-11 SEPTEMBER 7 DAYS CHINESE WALL LOOP £1610.00 plus £190.00 compulsory ranch gratuities
The Sun River Elk herd is over 2000 in number and in September, the fall rutting season is in full swing. We head west to the continental divide allowing us to see firsthand the elk herd dynamics and other high country wildlife with the backdrop of the Chinese Wall. Layover days are filled with fishing, hiking, interpretive day rides, or relaxing in a peaceful setting.

The ranch is open from June to mid September, stays are from Sunday to Saturday. Transfers are available from Great Falls between 12 and 2 on a Sunday returning early on a Saturday. There is a weight limit of about 17.5 stone. All prices are per person unless otherwise specified. Please call American Round-Up on 01798 865946 to book this ranch. Check-in/check-out Arrival is between 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday.  Dinner will be served promptly at 6:00   Checkout is by 10:00 am on Saturday.

Transportation The Ranch is 2 hours from the Great Falls International Airport.  free transportation as per the following schedule only:      Arrival:  pick up guests between 12:00 and 1:00 pm, and will depart Great Falls no later than 2:00 pm on Sundays.      Departure:  The JJJ van will leave the Ranch at around 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, arriving in Great Falls around 11:00 a.m.
