You are in the heart of Apache country here, 30 miles northwest of historic Silver City, this part of New Mexico was once the home of Billy the Kid and Geronimo. A working cattle/guest ranch consisting of nearly 30,000 acres, this working Guest ranch is family owned and operated. Situated along the western edge of the Gila Wilderness, they proudly boast some of the best and most exciting horseback riding in the southwest! Located in a sheltered canyon some miles from Gila Township, the ranch offers a number of alternative cabins ranging from recently constructed 2 berth cabins to the more rustic original ranch and bunk houses all of which are decorated in southwest decor. This is a ranch where you can ride and ride for what seems like forever - right next door there is the Gila Wilderness at around 300 square miles. Cattle and horses are raised here and you could be on cattle drives, horsemanship clinics or Cowgirl Camps. As this ranch combines working and riding, you can be sure there will be plenty of chores. The ranch prides itself on it's informal, family-style meals serving some of the best home grown, chemical-free Texas Longhorn beef and buffalo dishes in the southwest. Organically grown fruits and vegetables are often offered on their menu, when in season and available. Unfortunately vegetarian meals are not available at this property however, their recently constructed Cantina is proving to be a big hit with guests.
