Located in the shadows of the Snowy Range Mountains in the Centennial Valley, this ranch is located 21 miles west of Laramie. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this 100 year-old landmark has served as a cattle ranch, a stagecoach stop, a boy's school and a buffalo ranch, as well as a year-round guest ranch. Varied menu of home cooked food. This ranch has an excellent saloon where you may join new found friends.
The rustic exterior and interior cabins of the Riverside Suites match the rustic look of the historic lodge. The interiors offer modern conveniences surrounded in antique furnishings preserved from ranching days. The more secluded cabins are nestled among the trees farther away from the lodge. Two of the cabins have two to three sleeping areas and bathroom with a coffee maker, small refrigerator and hair dryer. Two of the cabins have cozy lofts, while the third is designed on one level.
Activities centre around western horseback riding and the Vee Bar claims one of the best riding programmes to be found at any guest ranch. Your experience will range from riding in the meadows to riding across the top of Sheep Mountain in the Medicine Bow National Forest. Also included are hayrides, hiking, trap shooting, camping out, herding cattle, gymkhana participation, excellent fishing and river tubing. There is plenty of horseback riding and as the family run a nearby working ranch you may also find yourself rounding up cattle, with an option to campout overnight.
The ranch is a great vacation place for kids. The terrain is gentle and safe with plenty of room to run and play. For children under six, child-care providers will be available with notice. Children six and older are eligible for horseback riding activities with parents or other children. All children can work on their horsemanship skills by competing in the gymkhana or moving cattle while receiving pointers and coaching from their kid-friendly wranglers.
