A frontier world of mountains and ranches, hunting and trapping rodeos and round-ups.  Wyoming is nicknamed "The Cowboy State" because for more than a century cattle raising has been the main occupation.

It still takes a rider on horseback to herd cattle, in the cowboy towns most people wear stetsons, blue jeans and boots, and stores have hitching posts for the horses.  Yellowstone, the world's first national park with it's famous geysers, hot springs, mudpots, waterfalls and mountains has enthralled travellers since 1872.  A further week is recommended touring in a car in Wyoming or driving over to South Dakota to visit Mt Rushmore or Crazy Horse Memorial and the Badlands
